If your route only runs at certain times of year — a summer service, for example, or a route that operates during school holidays — you can add a period of operation to your listing. This helps passengers plan ahead and lets Scenic show accurate availability information.
Where to find it
In the route editor, go to Timetable > Period of operation.
What to enter
You can set a start date and an end date for the service. If you’re not sure of exact dates yet, enter your best estimate — you can always come back and update it. It’s better to have approximate dates on the listing than none at all.
If your route runs year-round, you don’t need to fill in this field.
Tips
- Update the dates each year as soon as they’re confirmed
- If the route runs seasonally but doesn’t have fixed dates each year, use your most recent year’s dates as a guide and add a note in your service update callout to advise passengers to check for the latest information
- For routes with a summer uplift (more frequent service in peak season), keep the listing live year-round and use the Frequency and Marketing description fields to explain the seasonal variation
