The marketing description is the main body of your listing page. It’s your opportunity to tell the full story of the route — what makes it scenic, what passengers will see along the way, and why they should travel it.
Where to find it
In the route editor, go to Details > Marketing description.
What to write
This is the one field where you have real room to bring the route to life. Write two to four paragraphs — enough to give the reader a vivid sense of the journey without overwhelming them. Describe the landscape, the highlights, the atmosphere. Use specific place names and sensory detail.
You can use basic formatting — bold, italic, and paragraph breaks are all supported. Avoid heavy use of bullet points here; flowing prose reads better and is more evocative for a travel audience.
Tips
- Open with the experience — what will the passenger see or feel on this route?
- Name the key places served, especially any well-known landmarks
- Mention the season if the route is particularly special at certain times of year
- Keep paragraphs short — three sentences is plenty
- Don’t lead with timetables or logistics; those go in the Timetable section
