Editing the title and subtitle

Home » Scenic docs » Places to visit » Editing the title and subtitle

A location’s title is the name of the place as it appears on Scenic. The subtitle adds a short, evocative description that gives passengers a sense of what makes the place worth visiting.

Edit the title and subtitle

In the SLM, find your location in the Places to visit section and click Edit.

Update the Title field with the correct name of the location — this should match how the place is commonly known. In the Subtitle field, add a short, descriptive phrase (for example, “A market town on the edge of the Peak District” or “Coastal village with panoramic views of the bay”).

Save your changes. Both the title and subtitle appear on the location’s page and in route listing previews.

Tips for a good subtitle

  • Describe the character or setting of the place rather than just listing what’s there
  • Keep it to one sentence
  • Avoid tourism clichés like “hidden gem” or “must-visit”
