Chapter: 2.7: Managing tickets

In this chapter…

  • 2.7.1 – An introduction to tickets on Scenic

Explaining fares & tickets to your audience is very important. Here at Scenic we want to break down the barriers to passengers travelling, and explaining which tickets offer the best value is a key way to do this.

  • 2.7.2 – Managing concessionary pass acceptance

A large proportion of the visitors to the Scenic website are OAPs with a free bus pass. We often get asked whether certain services accept free bus passes and have created tools to allow operators to show this on their listings.

  • 2.7.3 – Add a new ticket to Scenic

To add a new ticket is quite simple but there are a few steps to take.

  • 2.7.4 – Updating an existing ticket

There is a lot of information you can edit on an existing ticket within Scenic. We’ve produced a series of guides to help you understand how to get the most out of your tickets. You can edit your tickets from the Scenic Listings Manager Ticket Dashboard.

  • 2.7.5 – Assigning operators to a ticket

It’s imperative that you assign operators to a ticket in the right way. There are two fields where you can assign operators: All operators Select every operator from the list that accepts and/or issues the ticket you’re adding or editing. For groups (Stagecoach, Go-Ahead, etc) add the opco and the parent group as operators. Why…

  • ⚠️ 2.7.7 – Add prices to a ticket

Whether you’re adding a new ticket or editing an existing one, the process is the same. You can edit your prices in one of two ways: manually through the Scenic UI or in a bulk upload via spreadsheet.

  • 2.7.9 – Adding restrictions & terms and conditions to a ticket

If the ticket has route specific restrictions – i.e. on route A you can only use this ticket between stop 1 and stop 12 – you can insert that information here.

  • 2.7.10 – Assign the ticket to your route(s)

Once you’ve added your tickets to the Scenic Listing Manager, you need to assign the ticket to one or more bus, coach or rail routes.
