Our process
How website projects work
A website is a much bigger job than a leaflet. It’s easier for everyone when each stage is agreed before the next one starts. So we plan before we design, and we design before we build.
Step 1 – Discovery
It starts with a free 30-minute call. Then we’ll have a meeting or two with your team about your goals, your audience and what the site needs to do.
Step 2 – A quote & plan
You’ll get a fixed quote for the agreed scope, plus the timescales and deliverables.
New ideas along the way get their own estimate, and we’ll always tell you first.
Step 3 – Sitemap & wireframes
Before any design, we plan the pages and the layout of each one. Agreeing the structure early saves rework later.
Step 4 – Design, then build on staging
Once you’ve approved the design, we build the site on a private staging link. You can click around the real thing and tell us what you think, long before it goes live.
We’ll keep you updated by email, plus calls or video meetings.
The words can come from you, or we can write them as a separate quote.
Step 5 – Training, handover & launch
Before launch, we’ll show your team how to edit the site, so you’re confident making changes yourselves.
After launch
We can host your site and look after it, usually on a retainer. Retainers are typically five, 10, 25 or 50 hours a month, and unused hours roll over for up to three months.
