What to do when media isn’t working

If images or other media aren’t displaying correctly on your listings, or you’re having trouble uploading files, this guide covers the most common causes and fixes.

Images not uploading

If an image upload fails, check the following before trying again.

  • File size — images must be under 10MB. Compress large files before uploading.
  • File format — JPG and PNG are supported. Avoid HEIC, TIFF, BMP, or WebP formats.
  • Filename — avoid special characters, spaces, or very long filenames. Rename the file to something simple (e.g. bus-route-400.jpg) before uploading.
  • Browser — try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended). Safari can occasionally have upload issues.

Images uploaded but not showing on the listing

After uploading an image, it needs to be set as the main image or added to the gallery before it appears on your listing. Go back to the Images section and check that your uploaded image has been selected and saved.

If you’ve saved correctly and the image still isn’t showing, try a hard refresh of your listing page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear any cached version.

Video not playing

Scenic displays videos via YouTube or Vimeo embed URLs. Make sure your video URL is a standard watch link (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXX) and not a shortened or playlist URL. Ensure the video is set to public — private or unlisted videos may not embed correctly.
